Today, we stand united to celebrate our beloved nation’s thirty-eighth Independence Day — which marks our journey as a sovereign and proud nation. On this auspicious occasion, we reflect on our achievements, honor our heritage, and look forward to a future filled with promise and potential. I and the staff of the Permanent Mission in New York wish you a Happy Independence Day!
As we celebrate our independence, let us renew our commitment to unity, progress, and peace. Our strength lies in our diversity, our shared values, and our collective efforts to create a better future for all.
From the lush islands of Pohnpei to the scenic beauty of Chuuk, from the vibrant culture of Yap to the tranquility of the Sleeping Lady of Kosrae, we are united by a shared vision for our future. Together, we are stronger, and together, we will continue to build a prosperous and resilient Micronesia.
In New York, we continue our work to further the interests of our nation. From securing our borders and sovereignty from climate-change induced sea-level rise; to arguing our case on Climate Change in international courts all the way to the protection of the Ocean. We will proudly continue to do so.
