PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): September 13,
1997 – President Jacob Nena, on October 3, 1997, directed the
Director of Budget to issue an allotment advice in the amount of $1
million to the Governor of the State of Kosrae as its share of the
$10 million from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the Early
Retirement Program.
Nena stated that Kosrae State has met all the requirements
necessary to access the Early Retirement Program Funds.
Vice President Leo A. Falcam, Acting Secretary of Finance Shina
Lawrence and Assistant Attorney General Nina Eejima left for Kosrae
State Wednesday afternoon to present the $1 million check to Governor
Mackwelung and other state leaders in a brief ceremony planned for
the occasion. They are scheduled to returning to Pohnpei today,
October 9, 1997, according to Special Assistant Josiah Waguk.
