Condolence Message by FSM Permanent Representative Jeem Lippwe at the Signing of the book of condolence at the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations in New York on the Passing of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. His passing has affected the Catholic community in the Federated States of Micronesia and the people of faith throughout our nation. He touched the lives of so many people throughout the world, including peoples of such small island states like the Federated States of Micronesia where the life and legacy of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI will be long remembered. His selfless acts and tireless efforts in the teachings of the Catholic faith and his contributions towards world peace in our complicated world are inspirations and challenges to world leaders and peoples of all faiths. On behalf of the Permanent Mission of the Federated States of Micronesia to the United Nations and of the Government and people of the Federated States of Micronesia, I express our deep condolences.
