First Volume of the 2005 FSM Household Income and Expenditure Publication Soon to be Released

Palikir, POHNPEI (FSM Information Service): January 30, 2008 – The First volume of the 2005 FSM Household Income and Expenditure Publication has been completed and is currently at the printer. It is set be released in a few weeks time. The publication is the third of its kind to be published by the Division of Statistics within the Office of Statistics, Budget and Economic Management and Overseas Development Assistance and Compact Management, OSBOC.

The publication contains essential information on the spending patterns and income levels of FSM households that can be used by Private and Public Sectors to make well informed decisions for positive impact on the overall economy and will be available to the general public.

The US Department of the Interior and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community provided technical and financial support for the project which relied heavily upon FSM household members to respond to surveys to enable the successful completion of the report.

Information on the release date and a summary of the report will soon be available at www.sboc.fm. The website is currently in its early development stages.
