FSM ambassador to Fiji called home

POHNPEI, Palikir (FSM Information Service): July 2000 – The Federated States of Micronesia is calling home its ambassador to Fiji for consultation. This comes after the recent coup and the selection of an interim government in that South Pacific island nation.

Ambassador Kodaro M. Gallen, FSM ambassador to Fiji, is being asked to return to Pohnpei to brief President Leo A. Falcam and other government leaders on the situation in Fiji.

President Falcam, said that in light of the rapidly changing political situation in Fiji, it is critical that he and other FSM government leaders know first hand what is going on.

Ambassador Gallen is expected to arrive on Pohnpei before President Falcam returns August 7 from an official visit to Chuuk State.
