FSM Close-up Students visit FSM UN Office

26 students from the FSM Close-up program visited the FSM Permanent Mission to the United Nations on Friday, May 17, 2002. Their visit included a briefing by Mr. Jeem S. Lippwe, Charge d’Affaires a.i. of the FSM UN Mission where the students raised questions ranging from FSM’s participation at the United Nations to the Compact of Free Association. The visit was complemented by a tour through the United Nations headquarters, lunch and a photo shoot at the FSM New York office.

The Close-up program provides honor students from all four states of the FSM with an annual tour to Washington D.C. and New York for a two weeks period. The students were representing various high schools and were accompanied by four teachers.
