The FSM Acting President Jacob Nena, in a May 1, 1997, memorandum to
all department, office and agency heads of the FSM National
Government declared that May 10, 1997, is FSM Day, a National Holiday
which will be observed on Friday, May 9, 1997, throughout the FSM.

Employees, who by the nature of their work are required to stand
dusty on that day, will be compensated at the holiday rate of pay.
