 FSM Embassy – Beijing Participates in Annual Department Meeting in PalikirBeijing, China (FSM Embassy): May 7, 2009 – Chargé d’ Affaires a.i. (Minister) Carl D. Apis departed China for the Nation’s Capital to attend the annual Departmental meeting slated for 12 to 15 May 2009. This annual meeting brings together the heads of missions of all FSM overseas missions in Palikir to touch base with the Department of Foreign Affairs to address issues of National importance. The annual meeting is usually scheduled to coincide during the May Congressional session to avail overseas missions with the opportunity to brief the Congress during oversight hearings of their ongoing activities abroad. During the Absence of Minister Carl D. Apis, the operations of the Embassy will be overseen by First Secretary Vincent Sivas as Chargé d’ Affaires a.i.
