 Micronesia and Morocco establish diplomatic relationsNew York (FSM Permanent Mission to the United Nations): October 13, 2010 – The Governments of the Federated States of Micronesia and the Kingdom of Morocco have formally established diplomatic relations through the signing of a Joint Communiqué in New York by the two nations’ Permanent Representatives to the United Nations, H.E. Ambassador Masao Nakayama and H.E. Ambassador Mohammed Loulichki at a ceremony today. The Joint Communiqué states that the two nations desire to promote friendly relations and cooperation between their two Countries in political, economic, cultural and other fields. The two nations agreed that their relations are guided by the principles and objectives of the Charter of the United Nations. The two nations further agreed that their diplomatic and consular relations shall be based on the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1961.
