Nena Asks Congress for Overtime Money

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): May 8, 1998 – President Jacob
Nena transmitted a proposed legislation to Congress for action,
requesting an appropriation of $54,000 to cover shortfall in
the FY 98 budget which resulted for payment of overtime incurred
by the staff of the Division of Immigration and Labor while performing
work in the line of their duties connected with arrival and departure
of ships and planes, according to Nena’s April 28th Communication
to Speaker Fritz. Nena said that without the requested amount,
airports and seaports will not be properly staffed during the
remainder of the fiscal year (98).
