Nena nominates Sana and Gilmar to IDF Board

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): March 20, 1998 – President Jacob Nena, in
two separate March 13th Communications, informed Congress Speaker Jack Fritz, his
nominations of Nakama Sana from Chuuk State and James Gilmar from Yap State to the
Investment Development Fund (IDF) Board of Advisors to represent their respective States.

The President’s nominations are made pursuant to applicable laws and the
IDF Agreement with the United States. Five of the eight members are to be appointed by the
President or his designee upon recommendations of their respective state governors and
with the advice and consent of Congress.

Two draft resolutions were attached to President’s Communications to expedite required legislative procedures.

Nena urged for a favorable and prompt consideration of Congress.
Regarding other vacancies, Nena says their nominations will follow in due course.
