Nena Signed First Special Session Act No. 10-36 into Law

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): September 1,
1997
– President Jacob Nena, on August 29, 1997, signed into law
Congressional Act No. 10-36, designating it Public Law No. 10-27. It
was the first of the proposed legislations passed during the Chuuk
Special (Session) to be signed by Nena.

Public Law No. 10-27, appropriates $200,000, from which $140,000
is to supplement the National Government’s energy budget; $40,000
for fuel needs of the State of Chuuk, and $20,000, is for fuel for
the Micro class vessels for Chuuk State.

After becoming law, the national Director of Budget shall proceed
to allot the Governor of Chuuk’s its shares of the appropriation
enabling Chuuk State to begin expending it.
