Pre-Applications for HPG Funding

Pre-Applications for HPG Funding

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): April 3, 1997
In the January 7, 1997, Federal Registry, it was announced that Rural
Housing Service (RHS) (formerly Farmers Home Administration (FmHA)
would accept pre-applications for HPG Funding from January 7, 1997
through April 7, 1997. This 90-day period will be the only time
during the current fiscal year that interested organizations or
public agencies may apply for this program according to a release
from RHS.

Pre-applications should indicate whether the proposal is to assist
either individual homeowners, rental properties, or cooperative
housing projects: the pre-application may not combine a proposal.
However, an application may submit more than one type of
pre-application.

Western Pacific has received an initial allocation of $80,000. No
entity can receive more than 50 percent of the initial allocation and
more funds will be allocated. Grant requests may range from a high
dollar to low dollar amount as long as the pre-application is
economically feasible and administratively sound to operate.

Pre-application packages may be obtained and submitted, questions
answered and assistance obtained at the following address: USDA,
Rural Development, P.O. Box 396, Kolonia, Pohnpei, FM 96941.
Telephone Number (691) 320-2581/3, Fax Number (691) 320-2662.
