President Mori calls for a Task Force on Creation of a National Airline

Palikir, POHNPEI (FSM Information Services): December 19, 2008 – In a memo to all Cabinet Members, President Mori communicated his intentions to create a task force to look at the domestic air service needs and the related issues of management, operations, infrastructures, and funding sources for one. He is building a core group with the Secretaries of Resources and Development, Transportation, Communications and Infrastructure, and Foreign Affairs to do the preliminary work in putting together the term of reference for this task force. As part of the preliminary work, the Task Force will need to review existing arrangements such as with the Caroline Islands Airline and make recommendations for a course of action. The Department of TC&I will be the lead department of the core group.
