President Mori Declared in Good Health

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): August 4, 2008 – President Mori was pronounced in good health by doctors at the Guam Naval Hospital, following a series of tests whose results were all negative.

As a result he was discharged from the hospital after spending a night there for tests and observation. The President was referred to the hospital in Guam after experiencing discomfort of stomach pain and fever in Chuuk.

With confirmation of good health, the President has decided to proceed to Beijing as scheduled for the Summer Olympics to join other world leaders and to show support for our athletes at the games.

The President wishes to express personal thanks and appreciation to all those who have assisted in attending to his medical needs especially the doctors, nurses and other medical personnel in Chuuk and Guam.

He is also grateful, appreciative and humbled by the outpouring of support and prayers from the leaders and citizens of our Nation for his speedy recovery.
