President Mori transmits seven more nominations

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Congress): March 26, 2008 – Speaker Isaac V. Figir has received more nominations by President Manny Mori for Cabinet positions, board memberships and for posts in the Federated States of Micronesia’s missions overseas.

According to the President’s transmittal letter received on March 24 2008, the following nominations are submitted for the advice and consent of 15th FSM Congress:

  1. Casiano D. Shoniber, re-nominated for the position of Secretary of the Department of Education;

  2. James A. Naich for Deputy Chief of Mission for FSM’s Mission to the United Nations;

  3. Jeem S. Lippwe for Deputy Chief of Mission for the FSM Embassy in Washington D.C.;

  4. Carlson D. Apis for Deputy Chief of Mission for the FSM Embassy in China;

  5. Renster R. Andrew for the Deputy Chief of Mission for the FSM Embassy in Japan;

  6. Akillino H. Susaia for the Consul General position at the FSM Consulate Office in Hawaii; and

  7. Gerson Jackson for the Consul General position at the FSM Consulate Office in Guam.

President’s letter requested the Congress’ favorable consideration on the nominees and express wishes for a successful session.

Nominations to the various boards and commissions will be provided when they are assigned to the committees.
