President to deliver his State of the Nation Address

Palikir, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): May 7, 2010 – His Excellency Emanuel Mori, in his letter of April 22, 2010 to Speaker indicated his preference for delivering his State of the Nation Address, pursuant to Congressional Resolution No. 16-76 on May 11, the opening day of the 4th Regular Session of the 16th Congress.

In his response of May 6, 2010, Speaker Figir informed President Mori that Congress considers Thursday, May 13, to be the best time for him to deliver his State of the Nation Address, immediately following opening of Congress at 10am that day

By law, the President is mandated to annually report to the People and Congress on the state of the Nation. Congress adopted Congressional Resolution No. 16-76 in their 3rd Special Session inviting the President to deliver his State of the Nation Address during the May session. This will be the third address the President will make in three years of his administration.

The Message is set to be aired via Telecom through the radio stations in the FSM including Pohnpei Radio Broadcasting Service (V6AH) and the Christian Radio Station on Pohnpei (V6AF).

The public is urged to come and participate in this important event for the Nation.
