President Urusemal sends letter of condolence to US President Bush

Palikir, POHNPEI (FSM Information Services): September 9, 2005 – On September 5, President Joseph J. Urusemal send a letter expressing condolence to the United States President, George W. Bush for the devastating wreaked by the recent Hurricane Katrina.

His letter is as follows:

Dear President Bush,

Please accept my sincerest condolences with respect to the devastation in the US Gulf Coast states of Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi caused by Hurricane Katrina. I also extend my heartfelt sympathies to the thousands of people who have lost love ones, homes and have been displaced from their communities. During the ongoing recovery efforts, may these people be able to bear with their immeasurable losses with courage and resilience.

The people of FSM join me in expressing our sympathies and prayers to the American people during their hour of need. May God continued to bless America.
