President Urusemal to attend China-Pacific economic forum

Palikir, POHNPEI (FSM Information Services): April 4, 2006 – Scheduled to begin on April 5, the first economic development and corporation forum for China-Pacific Islands Countries will also bring about the first ever visit of a Chinese Premier to the Pacific Islands, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.

Hosted by Premier Wen, the forum is expected to address areas to promote cooperation for common development of the Pacific region and China. The China-Pacific Islands forum will include a Ministerial Conference, seminars on the various development sectors and trade exhibits.

While various economic developments and investment would be entertained by the FSM, it is expected that the FSM will especially highlight the importance of its efforts to improve the nation’s fisheries resources.
