Speaker Christian calls for 4th Special Session

Palikir, POHNPEI (FSM Information Service): July 4, 2006 – Speaker Peter M. Christian has called the Fourteenth Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia to convene for its Fourth Special Session beginning on July 10, 2006.

The Special Session is expected to run for five days only.

The Speaker’s letter to President Joseph J. Urusemal noted that Congress will deliberate on the various pressing issues and measures, which include:

the supplemental funding, the fiscal year 2007 Budget, the revised Election Act.

Speaker also encouraged the President to submit his issues of vital importance and urgency for consideration by Congress. Along the same cooperative lines, the President was asked to avail his principles to provide information and work with Congress to ensure a successful session.
