Thirty five candidates certified for 2007 national elections

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): December 5, 2006 – The Office of the National Elections Commission (NEC) has certified the official candidates for the upcoming 2007 National General Elections.

According to the office of NEC, thirty five candidates have certified as contenders for the National Elections in March 2007 to seat the 14 members of the Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia.

Ten of the fourteen seats are for the two-year State representatives while the remaining four are for the at-large or the four-year State representatives. These four seats constitute the Congress members eligible for the nation’s Presidency and Vice Presidency.

Candidates for the 2007 National General Elections are:
