U Municipality Grant Request Turned Down

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): September 25,
1997 – Vice President Leo A. Falcam, on September 16, 1997,
regrettably informed Pohnpei Governor Del Pangelinan that the Embassy
of Japan has found it difficult to meet the FSM’s request for
Japanese Cultural Grant Aid for U Municipality.

The request was for Nambo Mural Wall project, to repaint the
existing mural wall along the main road to U Municipality, depicting
the history and cultures. The request was in the amount of
approximately $5,000 for both material and labor.
