United Nations Task Force on Combating Antisemitism

Statement by H.E. Jeem Lippwe, Permanent Representative

New York, 9 September 2026

Thank you, Ambassador Danny Danon, for the invitation to participate and to make a brief
remark at this inaugural meeting of the UN Task Force on Combating Antisemitism.
Micronesia welcomes the establishment of this important initiative. Antisemitism remains a
dangerous and persistent form of hatred and undermines the principles of dignity, tolerance, and
human rights that guide this Organization. Its rise demands a coordinated and sustained
international response.

Micronesia is here today at this event because combating antisemitism is a universal
responsibility. Micronesia has long stood with Israel in international fora, not out of politics, but
out of principle: the belief that the Jewish people must be able to live in safety, dignity and
equality. Our support for Israel is inseparable from our commitment to confront antisemitism
wherever it appears. As a Pacific small island developing state, we understand how
discrimination and targeted hatred weaken societies and threaten peace, and we join others here
today to affirm that no community should face such threats alone.

This Task Force provides a practical platform for cooperation, data-sharing, and capacity
building. Micronesia stands ready to contribute, to learn from others, and to support efforts that
strengthen the protection of communities and uphold the universal values of the United Nations.

Thank you.
