Olympic Solidarity/International Tennis Federation Coaching Course

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): April 29, 1998 – The FSM National
Olympic Committee is holding an Olympic Solidarity Tennis Coaching
Clinic on Kosrae beginning April 27 to May 2nd according to Jim
Tobin, FSM Sport Director. Geoff Love of New Zealand is the expert
instructor at the tennis course. Love is the Tennis Development
Coach of New Zealand.

The FSM National Committee has received funding and has sent
FSM Tennis Coaches; Ben Franklin and Richard Alex (Pohnpei),
Francis Sain (Chuuk) and Ignatius Pakaluo (Yap) to attend the
workshop. Over 12 Kosrae tennis players and coaches also are
attending.

The workshop will include tennis teaching approaches, technique,
movement patterns, tactics, mental skills, physical conditioning
and promoting tennis in school. Love will be traveling to Pohnpei
from May 2-4th to hold a mini-tennis workshop for players and
coaches. The tennis coaching course is funded jointly by the
Olympic Solidarity and the International Tennis Federation.
