President Nena Heads FSM Delegation to Rarotonga Forum

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): September 17,
1997
– FSM President Jacob Nena is heading the FSM Delegation to
the South Pacific Forum to be held in Rarotonga, Cook Islands, this
month according to President’s Special Assistant Josaiah Waguk.

Accompanying the President is First Lady Lerina, Secretary of the
Department of External Affairs Epel Ilon and Assistant Secretary for
Asia, Pacific, Africa (&) Multi-lateral Affairs Lorin Robert and
Deputy Assistant Secretary for South Pacific Affairs Kandhi Eliesar
who left earlier to attend the Pre-Forum meeting being held in
Canberra, Australia. They will join the President’s party in
Rarotonga at the Forum Meeting.

The 1997 Rarotonga Forum is expected to review the recommendation
by the Economic Ministers of the member countries who met in Canberra
earlier. FSM Secretary of the Department of Resources and
Development represented the FSM Government at that meeting.
