Australian Embassy Awarded Grants

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): October 23,

– The Australian Embassy in Pohnpei announces the awarding
of grants for projects for which funding was received during the
first part of the fiscal year, according to an Embassy release.

The grants were presented by Mr. John Janssen, Charge d’ Affaires,
Embassy of Australia to the FSM in a ceremony to the representatives
of the following projects:

Angechu Sewing Project, USD$1,000, for purchase of sewing machines
and equipment; Boundary United Farm USD$2,380.70, (for) purchase of
equipment and materials; PICS Library Upgrade USD$3,196.97, for
purchase of materials required for upgrading the library flooring;
Pohnsetik Water Catchment USD$950.00, for purchase of water tanks
with fittings; Pohnpei Business News: USD$1,000.00 for the purchase
of a computer; Rural Community Water Catchment System Madolenihmw:
USD$795,95, for the purchase of supplies required for the project;
Net Cultural Center Safe Water Improvement Project: USD$558.60, for
the purchase of water pipes; KSKTK Diadi Youth Organization:
USD$150.00, for the purchase of sporting equipment; Awak Youth
Organization: USD$150.00, for the purchase of sporting equipment; UFO
Women’s Association: USD$5,000.00, for Agriculture and Cultural
Preservation Community Development Projects; Walung Youth Sports
Project: USD$1,500.00, for the purchase of sports equipment, Unanu
Development Company: USD$31,047.00 for the Namonweito Atoll Water System.
