Congress invites President Mori to give State of the Nation Address in MayPalikir, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): April 1, 2010 – During the Third Special Session of the 16th FSM Congress, Floor Leader, Senator Joe Suka, submitted a Resolution to invite President Mori to address the people and the Members of Congress on the state of the nation during the Fourth Regular Session of the 16th Congress, which begins May 10, 2010. In the FSM Constitution, article X, Section 3(b), there is a provision that the President shall make an annual report to Congress on the state of the nation. Although this has not happened during every presidential administration, this will be President Mori’s third address in three years of office. The Congress adopted this resolution on March 26, 2010. A copy of this Resolution, No. 16-76, has yet to be posted on the Congress website, www.fsmcongress.fm, but is expected to be posted shortly.
