Congressional Act 15-17 signed into law
Congressional Act 15-17 signed into lawPalikir, POHNPEI (FSM Information Service): October 30, 2007 – Vice President Alik on behalf of President Manny Mori has signed Congressional Act 15-17 into law. Congressional Act 15-17 which becomes Public Law No. 15-17 amends Public Law No. 14-74 by amending section 1 and 2 thereof, to change the uses, lapse date and allottee of certain funds previously appropriated therein to fund public projects and programs in Yap State, and for other purposes. Vice President Alik has line item vetoed an appropriation of $5,000 for “Privat Sector Participation,” under the amended Public Law. In a letter to Speaker Figir dated October 25, 2007 Vice President Alik stated that the line item vetoed based on the records of the Department of Finance and administration show that there are insufficient funds remaining under Public Law No. 14-74 to cover the entire appropriation as amended.
