FSM Project Management Unit Executes Largest Contract Ever in FSM
FSM Project Management Unit Executes Largest Contract Ever in FSMPalikir, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): February 23, 2009 – On Thursday, February 19th, 2009, PMU Program Manager, Mr. Jack Yakana, signed his name to officially execute the largest infrastructure contract ever in FSM. The contract, worth nearly $25.9 million, is slated to provide a new concrete road on Weno Island in Chuuk State, and provide for new water and sewer lines as well. Only a single bid from Pacific International Inc. (PII) of Majuro, RMI, was received in response to the solicitation, even though the project had been advertised for 90 days. The PMU evaluation committee determined that PII was a responsible bidder for this project and that their bid was fully responsive to the solicitation. As a result, the U.S. Office of Interior Affairs authorized funding for the award of the contract.
