FSM Sergeant Soram killed in Iraq
FSM Sergeant Soram killed in IraqPalikir, POHNPEI (FSM Information Service): September 28, 2004 – The Embassy of the United States has notified the Government of the Federated States of Micronesia of the death of FSM citizen, Sergeant Skipper Soram. Army Sgt. Soram (23), of Madolenihmw municipality in Pohnpei State, died on September 22, in Baghdad Iraq. He died of injuries sustained from a car bomb that detonated near his posted traffic control point. The US Defense Department noted in their statement that Sgt. Soram, a cannon crewmember, was a member of B Battery, 3rd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery. He had entered the Army in March 2000, and had been assigned at the Fort Hood since December 2003. Arrangements are being made to return Sgt. Soram’s remains to his parents, Ensper and Perpetua Soram in Pohnpei.
