German Ambassador Gansauer Visits FSM

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): March 3, 1997 – Acting President Jacob Nena in a January 31, 1997 letter notified Pohnpei Governor Del Pangelinan that Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Federated States of Micronesia, His Excellency Karl-Friedrich Gansauer will visit the FSM from February 15 to the 19, 1997.

Nena stated that while Ambassador and Mrs. Gansauer are in Pohnpei they will be making courtesy calls on FSM Acting President Nena, various Department Heads, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and other diplomats and on Governor Pangelinan.

Ambassador Gansauer is based in Manila, Philippines. He and his wife depart on Wednesday, February 19, 1997.

Ambassador Gansauer’s visit was a routine beginning of the year visit to appraise himself on the FSM which was under his diplomatic jurisdictional area of responsibility.
