National Export Strategy FormulationPalikir, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): September 11, 2012 – The FSM Department of Resources and Development (R&D) has contracted the services of Mr. Graham K. Poon, a consultant from Australia specialized in export strategy formulation. Mr. Poon will be assisting the FSM to undertake the development of a comprehensive national export strategy with the ultimate objective of promoting exports of products, contributing to the reduction of trade deficits, providing a means of income generation, and reducing poverty in the FSM. It is anticipated that completion of the proposed project will lead to the following:
Mr. Poon will be accompanied by the Export Strategy Specialist, Mr. Adelman Joseph, and Acting Assistant Secretary for Trade and Investment, Ms. Camille Movick-Inatio, to undertake consultations with all stakeholders from all the FSM States and the National Government. These consultations will be conducted in the form of a one day workshop and one-on-one consultations during the following dates: Yap:
Chuuk
Kosrae
Pohnpei
National Government:
All private sector and government agency representatives are encouraged to attend these workshops and/or consultations to ensure that a comprehensive strategy fully reflecting stakeholder views is developed.
