Nena Encourage Pangelinan to Host 1999 Women’s Conference

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): February 10, 1998 – President Jacob Nena this
month, communicated and encouraged Pohnpei Governor Del Pangelinan to the 1999 FSM Women’s Conference.

The participants agreed to meet again in 1999 and the National Women’s
Advisory Council and the State Women’s Representative endorsed the expressed wish of the
participants for holding the Fifth Women’s Conference in Pohnpei State, President Nena
stated adding that he understands that Pohnpei Women Leaders have begun the ground work
for meeting with State leaders on hosting the conference.

President Nena praised Governor Pangelinan for his demonstrated
continued support for National and State women’s programs which he also is sure the women
are equally gratified.

President Nena requested a favorable response to his request at the earliest convenience of the governor.
