Vice President Alik gives Oath of Office to Albert Welly, New National Election Office DirectorPalikir, Pohnpei (FSM Information Services): October 22, 2010 – This morning, Vice President Alik gave the oath of office to the new Director of the National Election Office, Mr. Albert Welly. The swearing in ceremony took place in the Cabinet Room and was attended by Second Lady Shra Alik, members of the Executive Cabinet, National Election Office staff and members of the Welly family. Prior to the administration of the oath, a prayer was rendered by Reverend Ruhne Eldridge. In his congratulatory toast to Welly, Alik expressed his appreciation to Welly for accepting the nomination to the position of National Election Office Director. “On behalf of President Mori and the family of the FSM Government, we congratulate you and wish you the best in your new assignment,” said Alik. Director Welly thanked the government for his nomination and said he was looking forward to working with the four State Election Commissioners. “I will do my best to discharge my duties faithfully and impartially,” said Welly.
