Vice President to Present $2.0 Million to Yap

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): August 27, 1997
– FSM Vice President Leo A. Falcam is leading a small delegation from
the FSM Executive Branch to Yap State next month to present a check
of about $2.0 million to Yap State Governor Vincent Figir and the
leaders of Yap.

The $2.0 million is for implementing Yap State Government’s
restructural reforms. The money is part of of the loan approved by
the Asian Development Bank for the FSM to restructure the five
governments including the National and the four States.

Yap is the first state in the FSM that is ready to implement
its plan. The other States are close to completing the requirements
of the rpogram and the implementation is expected soon.
