Yoma Designated Acting Secretary of Health

– Acting President Jacob Nena has designated Mrs. Sizue G. Yoma,
Administrator, Division of Preventive Health, Department of health
Services, as Acting Secretary of Health Services from April 17, 1997,
until the return of Secretary Eliuel K. Pretrick on or about April
27, 1997.

Secretary Pretrick left Pohnpei last week to attend the meeting of
the Pacific Islands Health Officers Association (PIHOA) in Saipan,
Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas. It was reported earlier that
a team from the Institute of Medicine (IOM) that has been given a
contract to conduct a health service needs survey in the Freely
Associated States and other United States of America jurisdictions
will be at the meeting to talk with Health Officials at that
Conference.

Acting President Nena urged that all cooperation be accorded to
the Acting Secretary.
