Acting President Nena Proposes SNLC in May

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): April 23, 1997
– FSM Acting President Jacob Nena in an April 10, 1997, letter to all
State Governors, Chief Justices of the States and FSM Supreme Courts,
Speakers of Congress and the States Legislatures and President of the
Senate of the State of Chuuk, stating his proposal for a State and
National Leadership Conference (SNLC) to be held starting the second
week of May 1997, to coincide with the first regular session of the
10th Congress.

Nena also ask for agenda items in addition to those that are being
proposed by the FSM National Government including the following:
Updated Report on Sewer and Water Systems Loan; Implementation
Proposal of the Early Retirement Plan; Reinstatement of Federal
Development Authority; Compact Annual Reports; Use of Compact
Inflation Adjustment Amount; Immigration Problems; and Economic
Development Progress.
