FSM President sends congratulations to PM of Japan
FSM President sends congratulations to PM of JapanPOHNPEI, Palikir (FSM Information Service): July 2000 – President Leo A. Falcam, on July 7, sent congratulations to Japan Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori for his reappointment as prime minister. In his letter to Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori the President wrote, “Your re-appointment is a manifestation of the trust and confidence that the government and people of Japan have in your leadership. On this momentous occasion, I wish to reaffirm my continued commitment to working closely with you and your government in the enhancement of the friendly relationship between our two countries.” Japan and the FSM established diplomatic relations August 5, 1988. Since that time the Government of Japan has provided millions of dollars in assistance to the FSM.
