PMU Section of DTC&I to be Located in the President’s OfficePalikir, POHNPEI (FSM Information Service): January 30, 2008 – At the recent Chief Executives’ Council the Governors of each of the four states and the President of the FSM agreed that “the status quo of the [infrastructure] projects was simply not working.” President Mori agreed to make a commitment to move the Project Management Unit section of the Department of Transportation, Communication, and Infrastructure to the Office of the President as a means of addressing the problem. President Mori wrote the Governors of each State to inform them that he has honored that commitment and plans are under way to physically move the PMU section into his office. The move should be completed within the next few weeks. The Project Management Unit will report directly to the President on the status of infrastructure projects across the FSM.
