President Nena Thanked Mobil Oil Micronesia

PALIKIR, Pohnpei (FSM Information Service): May 30, 1997 –
President Jacob Nena expressed utmost and sincere appreciation to
Mobil Oil Micronesia, Incorporated, for the invitation extended to
the FSM to participate in the 1997 Mobil Baseball Game. Nena stated
in a May 28, 1997 letter that FSM’s goal this year is to achieve a
higher than the third place the year before.

Nena noted the contribution Mobil Oil Micronesia, Inc. in regional
sports development including hosting the 1994 Micronesia Games, the
1995 FSM Games, the annual Mobil Oil Baseball Games and the Second
FSM Games to be held in Kosrae from July 15 to the 25, 1997.

Baseball remains the dominant sport in Micronesia, Nena concluded,
urging continued sportsmanship, brotherhood and best of luck in the games.
