Mr. Tobin wrote a grant to the International Tennis Federation requesting junior tennis equipment to implement a youth tennis program on Pohnpei and later the entire FSM. The donated equipment includes tennis racquets, nets and balls. Dr. Isaac plans to start youth tennis instructional clinics and workshops before the end of the year. Additional grants have been submitted to the International Tennis Federation to start youth tennis programs in Kosrae, Yap and Chuuk. The initial grant was given to the Pohnpei Tennis Club because of its active youth tennis program. The Pohnpei Thanksgiving Tennis Tournament, sponsored by Mobil Oil Micronesia, has divisions for junior boys and girls.
